Job Description
We seek staff members to assist in the running of our challenge/ropes course and team building activities. Course consists of twelve low elements and six high elements (including 200 foot zip line).Counselors will also be involved in other fun camp activities, special events and trips. Challenge course or climbing experience a plus but not required. We will put your through our ropes training certification course. A perfect first job for someone looking to break into the outdoor education field.
Camp Skylemar is a well-established (since 1948) recreational summer camp, located in the Lakes Region of southern Maine. Enrollment is limited to 160 boys from across the country as well as abroad, who attend for 7 weeks. The program features outdoor oriented activities (hiking, camping, ropes & challenge course, outdoor education, backpacking, campcraft) as well as land and water athletics (soccer, baseball, tennis, golf, hockey, basketball, football, archery, swimming, waterskiing, sailing, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, etc.) Non-athletic activities include drama, arts & crafts, photography, video, radio broadcasting. Located on a 200 acre wooded campsite overlooking the White Mountains and a beautiful spring-fed lake, Skylemar offers a nurturing atmosphere with an emphasis on FUN.
