Job Description
All Summer Program staff are assigned to a cabin group, and as such are responsible for establishing a safe and therapeutic environment for our students in which they will be able to identify their strengths, and develop and practice new skills. They would develop skills working for a human services agency while making a difference in the lives of others. They should be able to establish relationships with our students while maintaining professional boundaries. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. In addition to their cabin group, the Assistant Teacher is specifically assigned to Think City, the academic component of the Wediko Summer Program, for 8 hour daily shifts. The Assistant Teacher works under the direct supervision of the assigned classroom Lead Teacher and Think City Administrators to provide academic instruction for students with various academic skills and challenges. The Assistant Teacher is responsible for helping create lesson plans that align with the program wide curriculum. The Assistant Teacher helps create learning bench marks for students, measure academic gains made during the program, and make adjustments to teaching strategies accordingly.Job Criteria
