Camp Farwell Counselor Job Description: Dates: June 13th - August 15th 2021 Salary ranges (for a first year counselor) from $2,550 - $2,750) Reports to: Marley Hanson, Camp Director Remember when you were younger, and there was a coach/teacher/mentor that made you feel inspired and valued? Well, you have the chance to become that person for 120 girls! Come work at the oldest girls camp in America! Female counselors enjoy the privilege of being both cabin counselors and activity/teaching counselors. You will be the primary caregivers for your cabin of campers, typically 4-6 girls. Our campers are ages 6-17. You will be responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills (braiding hair and friendship bracelet skills are a plus)! Essential Job Functions: - assure campers are properly supervised at all time and implement safety guidelines - responsible for leading and assisting with the teaching of activities - be a role model to campers and staff in your attitude, behavior and kindness - actively participate in all program areas - apply basic youth development principles in working with campers through communication, relationship development, respect for diversity, involvement and empowerment of youth Qualifications: - must be 18 years of age or higher and high school graduate - must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR (course provided at camp during our staff orientation) - ability to interact with all age levels - must submit health history form prior to first day of work - flexible attitude and lots of smiles Benefits: Weekly laundry Room, board & food included Earn up to a $200 bonus Amazing reference upon completion of a successful summer One day off each week (usually a Saturday or a Sunday) One evening off each week (usually a Thursday or a Friday) Make friends from around the world!Job Criteria
