Job Description
Camp Agape’ is a small ELCA Bible Camp located in Hickory PA about 10 miles north of Washington PA. off Hwy 18. Our Summer Staff consist of about 13 – 16 total people. The camp chaplain is responsible for the following aspects of the faith life for the staff, volunteers, and campers. • Bible Study o Each day the chaplain will be responsible for the teaching of the daily bible study from the curriculum that will be provided by Camp Agape’. o The Cabin Leaders will be part of each bible study and will assist in the activities included in the bible studies. o As we have many repeat campers each week the chaplain will need to make changes each week to presentation styles and materials covered that relate to the daily themes. • Worship o Each day the chaplain will coordinate with the Program Director and Music Staff on the creation and leadership of each daily worship experience along with the evening campfire experience. o The chaplain will be responsible for the message at the mid-day worship experience and assist the Cabin Leaders with the presentation at the evening Campfire. • Other Duties o Be available to assist with faith development questions that might arise either from the staff or the campers who in attendance. o Serve as a counselor for those seeking support and comfort for life/faith experiences. Time of Service: 5/30 – 8/5/21 Compensation: Room and Board + $500 a week ($5,000 for 10 weeks)Job Criteria
