How Annoying is Your Summer Camp Web Site?
You can’t make every sale. But the worst sale to lose is the one that got away because the Web user got frustrated with you -- over things you could have easily changed to provide great customer service at this new and all-important first point of contact – comments Steve Cony – summer camp marketing expert.

    Summer Camp Advertising Goes Digital
The summer camp industry is a microcosm of the ever-increasing digital world. Summer camp owners need to take note of the changes in the larger economy – writes Stephen Winbaum of

Today’s generation of parents often try to protect their children from an uncertain future by micro managing their every move. These are the well meaning “helicopter parents” who hover over their children attending to every gripe, fret or unsatisfying event in their children’s lives – writes Camp Scholar Stephen Fine.

Bringing the Classroom to Summer Camp
Camp Alvernia's visual media class broadened the horizons for our campers, giving them the opportunity to display their unique talents and creativity. Through this classroom-style program, we were able to reach out to all campers – writes Aaron Ranstrom in an ACA "Camp Trends" article.

    Product Spotlight

Professional day camp and resident camp directors all face the same challenge: How can you train the new season’s staff in just a few short days? Poorly trained staff are a liability, but expertly trained staff will become your camp’s biggest asset.

To meet your training needs, CampSpirit is proud to offer Leadership Essentials, a brand-new, premium library of online video training modules, written and hosted by Dr. Christopher Thurber and friends. Each module teaches critical leadership skills that every camp counselor needs to effectively deal with the social, behavioral, and disciplinary situations that arise at all summer camps.

    One Last Thing

    Like Night and Day
When contrasting both of my camp lives what obviously comes to mind first is that campers return home each day at day camp rather than sleeping over for a specific period of time. For me that is significant as I get a reprieve each day (and on the weekends) from the risk and liability that a camp director feels “24/7” at sleep away camp. This is emotionally exhausting because you never really get any kind of respite at sleep away camp! . . . writes Day Camp Scholar – George Stein.

    Protect Your Campers
Mediaplayer helps parents protect their investment by providing cancellation insurance in case their child cannot attend camp. Camp Directors who traditionally would lose that child's tuition are protected as well.

Camp Directors can direct their campers to, signing up is simple and inexpensive.
