DescriptionBack to top

Akita has always been a place that connects us to the most important things in life and Summer 2006 is going to be no different. It is our goal to help every person that comes through our gate experience Akita as a sacred and safe place to connect with friends new and old, connect with their true self, and connect with the loving spirit of God.
Our culture is one in which we are always connecting to something. Whether it be the television first thing in the morning, cell phone, palm pilot, iPod, Internet, or just a personal computer, most of our connected lives involve connecting with a machine. With all of the fantastic advances in technology hopefully we never forget to connect to the living world that sustains and fulfills us in ways that other substitutes can not. One of the greatest gifts we can give our kids these days is the encouragement to experience and share the personal connections of a loving and compassionate world.
Our highest priority, once again this summer, will be connecting with young people where they are in their faith and allowing them the space to explore what kind of person they want to be in this world. Well learn everyday from each other about a God who loves us unconditionally and the gift of each moment.
