DescriptionBack to top

Students will have the opportunity to try out the piano, guitar, violin, drums, and recorder to see which instrument they enjoy the most. This will assist parents in deciding which instrument their child should learn through private lessons beginning either in the summer or fall.
We will also enjoy exploring music through artistic expression; constructing our own instruments, interpreting musical selections while drawing, and more. There will be a scrapbook-style composer project that students will complete in teams and a general music history of the composer's era will be discussed.
Students will learn new skills such as note reading and rhythmic notation and will enjoy learning about the vast number of musical styles and instruments.
Overall, students will develop a love of music and a desire to play an instrument. Research has clearly shown that children who play an instrument perform better in school and have higher self-confidence!
