DescriptionBack to top

Summer camp is a great American experience. And Jewish camp creates a unique link to Jewish culture. Now there's a camp that combines the beauty of both for non-religious, Cultural, Secular and Humanistic Jewish youth - Camp Keshet, which means "rainbow" and celebrates the pluralistic message of modern Jewish identity.
This ten-day program will bring together the fun of camp with the celebration of Jewish culture and heritage. We will explore our Jewish heritage, sing Hebrew songs, learn Israeli dances, and spend time in discussions with a rabbi in an informal setting. Our camp experience will be filtered through our eyes as Cultural, Secular and Humanistic Jews. We will learn Hebrew by referring to campsites and daily life in Hebrew. We will sing Hebrew songs around the campfire and enjoy cultural Shabbat celebrations. We will gather each evening for a m'seeba, a Jewish theme party. Humanistic values - caring, responsibility, dignity, self-confidence, cooperation, self-reliance, tsedaka , and sharing - will be introduced at teachable moments, in our cabins, at meals, on the ball field, tree-climbing, and around the campfire
