Our Campers say it best. “Camp Tecumseh is the best place in the world.”
For 90 years, Camp Tecumseh has excelled at fostering growth in young people. Between outstanding role model counselors, intentional and innovative programs, cutting edge facilities, an earnest commitment to our Christian principles, and a loving culture where campers grow in character, confidence, and faith, a summer at Camp Tecumseh is the kind of transformational experience that sticks with campers forever.
At the heart of a Tecumseh summer is the “I’m Third” motto. God is first. Others are second. I’m third. Through morning chapels and nightly devotions Tecumseh plants the seed of faith and emphasizes God’s love for us while imparting on campers the importance of putting the needs of others before their own. A rich culture of acceptance, love, and encouragement creates a safe space for campers to make new friends, step outside of their comfort zone, and become the person they have always wanted to be.
Tecumseh’s role model counselors drive the experience. With two to three expertly trained college age counselors in every cabin, campers can always feel safe, supported, and loved. A rigorous application and interview process ensures a talented, enthusiastic, diverse staff of counselors year after year.
Intentional, innovative programming finely tuned for every age group fuels the kind of character growth that makes the camp experience so valuable. From sports, to arts and crafts, and everything in between, our morning clinics are designed to teach skills, as well as foster a love of learning and an appreciation for hard work and perseverance. Whether campers are making friendship bracelets, learning to screen print a T-shirt, or canoeing on the Lake, we hope every camper goes home knowing the joy of accomplishment. Our afternoon and evening activities provide a sweeping array of options to keep campers entertained and engaged. Ziplines, blobs, float trips, mud hikes, teambuilding, cookouts, sleepouts, sports, dance parties, games and so much more all serve as the arena where lifelong friendships can be made in less than a week.
