DescriptionBack to top

The Camptown Theater Workshop is a sleep-away performing arts summer camp for boys and girls ages 8-16. We offer a 2-week immersive theater program geared towards beginning and intermediate young performers.
Campers have a full day of structured theatre-intensive programs, including daily seminar-style classes in many aspects of theatre craft, a Shakespeare scene workshop in which each camper will rehearse and perform in two scenes, and daily rehearsal of three musical theatre scenes. The Shakespeare and musical theater scenes are performed at the end of the two weeks.
Campers also have two hours of elective time per day in which all of the major program areas of The Ballibay Camps are available, including Technical Theater, Video, Radio, Rock Music, Instrumental and Vocal Music, Visual Art, Gardening, Food Education, and Dance. We also produce a staged reading and two one act plays for campers wanting even more theatre.
After dinner, campers and staff gather for rehearsal of the full-camp chorus, one of the most exciting parts of this unique and intense workshop program.
The Camptown Theater Workshop is a summer camp of The Ballibay Camps. The Ballibay Camps were established in 1964, and are American Camp Association accredited.
