Centennial Forest Envrionmental Education Programs
Summer Address:

Nature! Science! Fun! The NAU Centennial Forest Environmental Education Program offers a low counselor-to-camper ratio. All healthy meals are included as well as supervised overnight accommodations in our tent cabins. At an elevation above 7000 ft., the camp is set in the world's largest continuous ponderosa pine forest, located on Northern Arizona University's research forest. The NAU Centennial Forest Environmental Education Program offers team building, hiking and camping, all are activities that take place underneath the ponderosa pines. Plus, campers will learn the value of wildlife, ecological restoration, land stewardship and community service. World class Northern Arizona University faculty teach campers hands-on forestry techniques such as mapping in the field and measuring tree diameters. Most important, learning about forestry and other related environmental issues is fun! Campers will enjoy a variety of art projects, play games in the woods and make new friends from a variety of backgrounds and communities inside and outside the state of Arizona.
New this year, Climate Change Challenge Camp!! Come and help researchers create realistic solutions to global climate change. Researching and learning beside top researchers at Northern Arizona University; campers will be introduced to numerous environmental career fields which will provide the necessary tools to make recommendations toward this global issue. Students will be utilizing University computer labs to present their findings to a panel of experts at the end of their week long adventure.
