Edu-Culture International (ECI) is a non-profit educational organization run by professionals with advanced degrees in education. We specialize in summer study abroad and exchange programs for high school students, and have exciting summer trips based in Salamanca, San Sebastian, Granada or Nerja (on the Mediterranean coast). These study trips provide unique opportunities for pre-college teens to learn Spanish in Spain and offer the choice of staying with host families or in university-style dormitories.
ECI’s Spanish immersion programs last from 3 to 4 weeks, with the first 2-3 weeks including language classes. The morning classes are small, interactive, fun and usually include other international students. After lunch, there are a variety of supervised activities like salsa dancing, kayaking, soccer, volleyball, visits to nearby villages or towns, cooking classes and more. After dinner we enjoy concerts, dancing, movies, and other social activities. Of course, there’s plenty of free time for students to get together with friends to explore their own interests – getting a taste of independence and college life is an important part of the experience.
Our Spanish study trips also include up to one week of travel to some of the most beautiful places in Spain – Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Cordoba, Toledo, and more! We always choose high quality, centrally located hotels and professional bilingual guides. Each group is comprised of 30 students and 3 full-time chaperones.
High school students who are planning on applying to college in the near future know how important it is to have a strong application. With ECI’s study abroad programs, teens can earn three semester units of credit in Spanish through an accredited US university. These credits are transferable to any university, and are accepted by most universities in the United States.
ECI’s unique Immersion Host Family Program provides a life-changing teen summer exchange opportunity!
ECI’s Language Partners are an exciting feature of our language and culture programs!
