Kids, teens – athletes who seek a competitive edge can benefit from our renowned training program.
HTA’s tennis camp enjoys new, state-of-the-art facilities–20 lighted decoturf courts, plus access to indoor courts. It is the site of our country’s Boys National Tennis Championships during August. This facility makes it the perfect place for a junior resident camp.
This camp is conveniently located at Western Michigan University, midway between Chicago and Detroit in lovely Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Our vision and philosophy is to provide campers with the best coaching / training environment needed to meet or exceed their individual junior career goals. We will instill self-discipline, dedication and encourage hard work; all needed for success on the court or in the future. It is the camp's philosophy to push each player in reaching new levels of their games, but more importantly to be organized and understand the steps involved with the process of achieving one's dreams.
The coaching staff wants to impact their campers' lives in a positive manner by giving them the opportunity to excel not only at a lifetime sport, but also throughout their everyday life. It is our vision to be the most organized and well-respected tennis camp in the Midwest.
Campers train six hours a day, including stroke development, flexibility exercises, moderate strength training, quick and explosive footwork movement drills, cardio endurance building, and resistance training. Daily hitting sessions will focus on each player's needs in developing his or her game. Each session will be supervised by one of the Academy’s Co-Directors.
All campers will eat meals in the air-conditioned campus dining hall, and have use of the college student recenter, fitness center, rock climbing wall and swimming pool. Additional supervised activities will include soccer, off-campus trips, and a variety of social and cultural activities.
There will be two campers per dorm room, and weekly sessions are available. We are excited about our growth as a team and look forward to your visit to our facilities at Western Michigan University. Please remember that enrollment is limited and will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.
EXCITING NEWS FOR 2007! HTA has partnered with Western Michigan Men's Tennis Head Coach, Dave Morin as co-Director.
