Music in the Somerset Hills Summer Camp Programs
Summer Address:

Summer Voices:
Experience a vocal music camp for emerging musicians which will give students experiences in choral singing, small group vocal training, and other special interest sessions which will enhance every student’s musicality. Within the camp, ensembles will be formed to include like ages and levels of ability. This camp is designed to foster each singer's love of music, further develop vocal skills, and increase musical knowledge and understanding all within a fun and safe camp environment. Camp faculty include Stephen Sands (Artistic Director), Matthew LaPine (Director of Music Education), and Dan Foster (Founder and Director of Aoede Consort). Please bring a lunch each day. All students entering grades 3-12 are welcome.
Instrumental Camp:
Fill your child's summer with a week of music! Students will continue their instrumental studies or take on a new instrument at this fun and exciting summer music camp. The week will conclude with a recital performance to showcase the student's talents and hard work. Students will be grouped throughout the day by skill-level and instrumentation. Camp faculty include woodwind specialist, Peter DiCarlo (Community Band and Instrumental Director) and brass specialist, Fred Trumpy. Please bring lunch Thursday. Open to students entering grades 4-9.
Guitar Camp:
Rock out this summer! In this guitar camp, students will become acquainted with the basic guitar anatomy, fundamental techniques, reading chord charts and changing between easy 2-finger chords. Led by camp faculty Laura Shabazz (Founder Swan Music School), students will learn a song to perform at the end of the week. This camp is open to students entering grades 7-12, and all experience levels are welcome. All students must have their own guitar - acoustic (preferred) or electric with your own amp.
Music Technology Camp:
Come and learn the basics of the recording and the digital music world with this introductory course in music technology led by Stephen Sands (Artistic Director). Students will be given hands on experience with the software and hardware that professionals use to create, edit and distribute digital music. No musical or computer experience is necessary. Students will create and edit digital music and video for use in their own portfolio. Students entering grades 6-9 are welcome.
