The goal of the Skills Enhancement Academy is to... ENHANCE previously taught skills, build upon skills that need to be mastered, and enrich students who have demonstrated an advanced understanding of Louisiana GLE's. The instructional team at the Academy will create engaging lessons that concentrate on the skills that are outlined in the Louisiana State Assessment Guide for each grade-level. For example, students that are registered second graders, will be given the opportunity to master material that they will need to be successful on the third grade ileap, and third graders will master fourth grade LEAP material. Registered students will be expected to fully participate in daily academic activities that allow for small group as well as differentiated instruction.

Subject areas include Reading, Math, Science, and English Language Arts. The curriculum is hand-selected by Allysia Cleveland, S.E.A. Co-Director of Curriculum.

The cost for the eight-week session is $60 per week with a one-time registration fee of $40. Any student not accepted will receive a full refund.

S.E.A will be held Monday thru Fridays beginning May 31, 2011. S.E.A. is an eight week program and will end on July 21, 2011. The program will operate from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
