Summer Jazz Workshop
Summer Address:

The intense five-week instructional program features classes in:
` Theory and Composition
` Improvisation and Orchestration
` Jazz Idiom and Career Management
Additionally, the students, middle school age through college age, are taught career and business disciplines critical to success in future endeavors:
` Respect for authority
` Individual roles in the group process
` Organization
` Scheduling and meeting deadlines
` Planning and budgeting resources
` Public relations, marketing and public speaking
The program is a combination of master-classes, lectures, small and large ensemble participation, and field trips. As participants in the Summer Jazz Workshop, students are exposed to subjects not fully covered by public school systems and are highly motivated by positive role models.
