Summer Shakespeare Camp at the Secret Rose Theatre
Summer Address:

Summer Shakespeare Camp
Ages 8 to 14
Our most popular program “SUMMER SHAKESPEARE CAMP” has expanded! Why? Because we had so much fun previous years, but didn’t have a chance to cover theatre craft.
This year, we will be making our own costumes and sets, while, of course, learn how to speak and walk like Elizabethan aristocrats (or AristoKlutz).
Never too Early to Learn!
Do you think “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is complicated and “Hamlet” too bloody? Wait until you see this year’s production… the Scottish Play… MacBeth!
It’s amazing to watch kids actually understand Shakespeare! And once they do, they are thirsty for more.
The first step is explaining the language and answer those “What in the world is he talking about?” questions. We explain the story and then work with the actual script, not some watered down American version.
This year we are expanding class hours and introducing more theatre craft to the class, including costuming and props. We are excited and can’t wait!
