Bordering Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south, Costa Rica has something for everyone. From the dry forests and rolling plains of the north to the tropical jungles of the south. This land of diversity is a wonderful place to explore ecology. It has long been popular with World Horizons’ travelers who want to improve their Spanish speaking skills through total immersion in a Central American village.

You will live in Palmares, a small town outside San Isidro with a few small grocery stores, a bakery, a health clinic, plus a 'soda' or small luncheonette. Here you may work with local children running day camp activities and you may also provide community support through painting and small repair projects. Individual internships may also be arranged for each traveler in the afternoon.

"...It was honestly the most rewarding experience I've lived so far... I feel I've gained an abundance of knowledge, social skills and awareness. This was such a rich experience it's hard to put into words! Most definitely a ride that I cant wait to get back on! Next stop Ecuador!!" -- Sophie Tabet, London, UK
