YMCA Camp Fitch
YMCA Camp Fitch, located on the shores of Lake Erie, has maintained the highest leadership standards since our founding in 1914. Our staff has consistently been selected on the basis of good character as well as skills. Most of our staff return year after year, offering campers a continuity of Camp Fitch traditions and spirit.
Camp Fitch’s staff of over 100 dedicated men and women is led by a highly experience d leadership team. Our Executive Director, Brian Rupe, brings a wealth of experience in YMCA camping including Camp Jewel of Hartford Connecticut YMCA; the leadership team at Camp Fitch has had over 100 years of experience in camping.
Camp is located on a beautiful lakefront setting in North Springfield, Pennsylvania. Near Erie, PA and just 90 minutes from Cleveland, Buffalo and Youngstown and two hours from Pittsburgh. For those coming from a bit further away we offer the convenience of airport pick ups.
Camp Fitch is bursting with activities to fill your child’s days at camp. Our three waterfronts activity areas allow for a diverse selection from swimming and sailing to water skiing and kayaking. We have a mile of Lake Erie beaches, an inland lake for boating and a 25 meter swimming pool with a diving well. All waterfronts are fully supervised by certified lifeguards.
The horseback riding experience (hour long trail rides through hundreds of acres of forest) can be expanded through our exciting classes in horsemanship. Our staff instructs campers in riding form, barn care, and basic horsemanship.
Our 4 story outdoor climbing tower offers a challenged to every camper from the beginner to the experienced climber. Camp Fitch’s indoor climbing center allows campers to practice their skills in any weather.
All this and we haven’t mentioned crafts, target sports such as archery and riflery, all the sports you can think of and many more activities to numerous to mention.
Our facilities beginning with our new Dining Hall overlooking Lake Erie are among the best in the country. We are proud of our facility but even more so we are proud of our traditions and our great and caring staff, most of whom have started here as campers.
Come and be a part of the “Camp Fitch Bunch.”
