At Camp McConnell, we strive to enrich the character and the life of every camper using the YMCA core values as our foundation: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun filled environment where campers can be themselves and develop lifelong memories. The adventure begins the day you arrive....from settling into your cabin and meeting new friends, to venturing out together for the opening campfire.
There are tons of instructed activities to participate in including: horseback riding, high & low ropes on our 19 element challenge course, paintball, arts & crafts, archery, BB and Rifle target sports, dance, canoeing, basketball, baseball, soccer, kayaking, drama, outdoor skills, tennis, sand volleyball, swimming in our Olympic sized pool, springboard diving, journalism, campfires and special events. There's more! Leisure time and cabin group activities like: 4-square, marshmallow roast, hiking, sports, and more. The camp store is open every night after supper.
And there's still more, those special days and field trips: the McConnell Olympics & Luau Feast, Christmas in July, Old Fashioned 4th of July with field games, tug-o-war, watermelon eating contest, swim races, and burgers on the grill; Field Trips like tubing down the Icheetucknee River, swimming in crystal clear Blue Springs, plus optional choice trips like Wild Waters or the one day Silver River Run Canoe Trip.
