Camp Reed was established in 1915 with a land grant of 13 acres from Frank and Emma Reed who were said to be a “very generous couple concerned with the welfare of children”.  Today, Camp Reed covers over 550 acres on beautiful, yet hidden, Fan Lake. We are a traditional camp in a wilderness setting that each summer season serves over 1600 children from a broad base of socioeconomic and culturally diverse backgrounds. Camp Reed is accredited by the American Camp Association.  This nationally recognized testing process focuses on camp quality, health, program, safety, and facility issues and requires us to review every facet of our operation.  In addition to being safe and “accredited” – we also believe that camp should be fun.  Camp Reed is a place that allows a “kid to be a kid”, experience life in the beautiful outdoors, and the opportunity to learn from our excellent staff and rich program activities.
