With technology advancing at an exponential rate, it’s more important than ever for kids to engage in STEM learning—a combination of science, technology, engineering, and math—to prepare them for their future. The STEM Center USA is just the place for kids in pre-school through high school to learn practical career-building skills in a stimulating, hands-on environment. Using a “guided discovery” approach, the courses offered encourage children to use their hands and learn robotic systems through a series of trial-and-error discoveries. There’s no such thing as failure here; only opportunities for another solution.
Curated with the help of high school students, the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology will delight history enthusiasts of all ages. Take a walk down the Hall of Footprints to discover one of the largest fossil track collections in the United States, including the only known track way of an ancient “bear-dog” carnivore. From there, meander through the Hall of Life, where you can journey through our planet’s 4.6 billion-year history through the observation of life forms from the Precambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic eras. Grab a docent or explore the wonder of our ancient world on your own; either way, everyone is sure to have a blast.
Nurture the inner-artists in your family through children’s art classes at Studio Claremont. Here you’ll find year-round classes in drawing, painting, clay, and paper mache, taught by enthusiastic teachers with the ambitious mission to ensure that no two classes are the same. Through the use of creative learning, kids ages 6 and up will develop their fine motor skills, improve critical thinking, build self-esteem, and gain a deeper understanding of the creative process—all the while having too much fun to notice all that they’re learning.
Here, it’s about two things — golf and fun. We teach golf’s traditions. We teach its techniques.
