Home of the Annual Tamale Festival and the first ever Hass avocado tree in the United States, the city of La Habra, California is rich in community and creativity. Spend the day marveling at the dinosaurs in the Children’s Museum, see a magic show at the Mysterium Theater, or tumble around at the Eric Will Gymnastic Center; no matter the adventure you choose, you and your little ones are sure to have a blast. Check out our online directory for exciting camp opportunities in La Habra!
The Children’s Museum at La Habra is full of activities for hands-on learning and exploration. With seven different galleries specifically designed to be touched by little hands, your children won’t even realize how much they’re learning about history. Let them wander through the dinosaur garden, climb into a 1942 caboose, dig for fossils, and so much more! And with exhibits changing twice a year, you’ll want to keep coming back to check out the new family workshops, performances, and art projects. Find out more about admissions and the exhibits currently on display here!
Take in a show or learn how to be in one at the Mysterium Theater! This comprehensive theater in La Habra offers families a diverse array of entertainment options from putting on performances of old Broadway favorites like Sweeney Todd, to offering weekly classes in magic, ballet, and Shakespeare, there’s no shortage of fun to be had no matter your interests. Even the tiniest of tykes can get in on the fun in the theater’s weekly "Itty Bitty Broadway" acting classes! Check out the theater’s website for class and show schedules each week.
At the Eric Will Gymnastic Center, children from the ages of two to teenager will have no trouble finding a class to fit their fancy. Join your toddler at the weekly “Parent and Me” class, or watch your older children develop their gymnastic skills on the bars, beam, and vault in addition to learning to tumble. Adults can join in on the fun as well; check out their classes and programs to find out more.
Children will learn various pottery making techniques from pinching pots to working on a potter’s wheel!
