Enjoy exploring the outdoors with Sports Plus day camp. Offering tons of fun, outdoor activities, this camp focuses on physical fitness and fun. Kids get to grow and learn while they develop their skills in swimming, gymnastics, soccer, and even self-defense. Be sure to check out their winter camp activities as well (the fun doesn't have to stop in August!). Children will also have the opportunity to go on overnight adventures and special field trips with camp leaders. Trained coaches are on site to ensure that your child is learning in the safest environment possible. All summer camps from Sports Plus are offered to children ages 5-14.
Thesbian in the family? Don't forget to check out one of the top summer camp organizations in California, the Performing Arts Workshop. The PAW offers tons of artistic and drama summer camps, along with excellent after-school programs. They offer opportunities for children to learn acting, singing, photography, and more. Children ages 8-14 can apply, and they have activities throughout the entire summer. For the wizard in your family, they offer a magic camp, training kids in sleight of hand, card tricks, magical theory, and tons more. The fun doesn't have to wait till summer. The Performing Arts Workshop offers a spring break camp where you can learn about things like filming and dancing. They even have some activities for children ages 5-7.
One of the biggest centers for camp programs in Northridge is the Northridge Recreation Center. The NRC offers many events for your child to enjoy. There is Camp Hollywoodland, a girls' camp designed to teach nature appreciation and camping techniques right in the mountains of California. Griffith Park Boys' Camp has been an outdoor adventures camp since 1924. Boys get to learn about hiking and respecting our earth in rustic cabins. Boys ages 7 to 14 are welcome. The NRC also oversees Griffith Park, one of the most beautiful parks in California, perfect for a family picnic on a free weekend in between summer camping.
