Norwalk, famous for its large, white water tower, is a suburban city in the Los Angeles area. It is one of the most populous cities in the United States, so there's many new people for you and your family to meet and loads of opportunity for recreational events. The parks and rec department hosts city wide special events, special interest classes, and youth and adult services that are sure to be full of new friends. Find all your needs at Norwalk Recreation and Parks Services, which offers workshops, sports and aquatic programs, day camps, and festive holiday events. There's Snowfest and Tree Lighting Ceremony, which of course, Santa loves to visit. For family bonding, they host a Mother Son Dance called Boas and Bowties and a Daddy Daughter Dance Spring Fling. The city of Norwalk even has its own youth mariachi group, which your child can join or watch at one of their many performances. The parks themselves have ongoing events like International Friendship February, where the whole family can make new friends at the park, play games, and make crafts.
Learn about animals and the outdoors at Norwalk Nature Center, a cozy place that has domesticated animals like donkeys, goats, lambs, and hens for the kids to play and interact with. The view isn't bad either, as the grounds are surrounded by fruit trees, a vegetable garden, a topiary garden, a stream, a pond, and wonderfully painted carousel horses. There are slides and swings nearby for more play time with the kids. Visiting is free, but they are only open on the second and fourth Saturday and Sunday of the month.

The complex includes a weight room, basketball gym, ping pong tables, handball courts, and personal trainers. A boxing program is offered for adults and youths throughout the week and proper technique and conditioning skills are taught. A skate park can be found in the complex! Helmets, elbow, and knee pads are required at all times. Local art is exhibited in a gallery and art classes are available for all ages.
