Rancho Cordova, winner of an "All-America City Award", being right next to the state capitol, makes it a treasure trove of museums and activities for kids to take part in. There's American River Parkway for riding bikes and talking a family walk, Lake Natoma for a fun swim, or the drive in theater for an old-fashioned family fun experience. Museums focus on kids, target shooting, golf courses, and free concerts in August mean there is always something happening. Our online directory for Rancho Cordova is full of the best summer camps for your child to enjoy while experiencing what this pleasant city has to offer.

Inspire and create at the Sacramento Children's Museum, which provides a place for children to think for themselves. Learning is encouraged though play, like at Solar Car Racers, where kids see how the sun can be an energy source. Mr. Noodle's Forest is the newest sensory exhibit and kids will be all smiles, as they try to make their way through this forest of hanging pool noodles. At the Waterways exhibit, kids will study the flow of water by filling balloons withit, creating a whirlpool or building their very own boat. For the younger children, there is a private area to play dress-up in, plant a flower, or just tumble around.

The sky is the limit at the Sky High Sports, a trampoline sports arena, where kids can try out some super moves without the fear of getting hurt. Gripping socks are required and only cost two dollars a pair. The main court is made up of many different trampolines and is the size of a basketballcourt. This part is perfect for practicing back flips! There's also a dodge ball court, for a new twist on the school game, and a foam pit to sink into when you're ready to relax. Let your kids do their best Tarzan impression on the rope swing!

Go back to the Gold Rush at the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park. Kids can see what life what was like back in the 1800s and how the gold panners searched for the elusive gold. Tours take families through the historic town of Coloma and explain the story of how gold was first discovered in the state of California. Every October, the park comes alive with old-fashioned children's games, gold panning, carriage rides, medicine shows, and cannon firings. Don’t miss out on the incredible BBQ feast!
