The Grand Theatre Center for the Arts has a wealth of learning opportunities for you and your little ones. With class offerings in dance, music, and the visual arts, both children and adults alike can nurture their inner-artist at the nearly 100-year-old theater. If you’re in the mood to sit back and be entertained, then you won’t be disappointed with the endless variety of performances in comedy, dance, and theater taking place each week. Enjoy a special treat all summer at the Music in the Park Concert Series, where people of all ages can enjoy free live music at Lincoln Park. Check out their events page for more information and to upcoming shows!
For a taste of history that’s fun for the whole family, the Tracy Historical Museum is the place to be! Kids get to see firsthand what it was like to be a young student in rural San Joaquin County in the 19th century. In the one-room schoolhouse, children partake in penmanship and grammar lessons, learn to draw with charcoal, and make craft corn husk dolls to take home. Even better, admission to the museum is always free!
Cool off at the Tracy Oasis Marina-Resort, which offers boating, fishing, and water sports of all kinds. Boats are rented all year round, any time of day, from large houseboats to small fishing boats for any type of water excursion imaginable! If your family is really looking to make a splash, grab a jet ski or hop on a wave runner to see the sights, and follow it with a refreshing dip in the Delta. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, re-fuel your bellies and your boat at the on-site restaurant and fuel station.
