Dive into the unfettered beauty of Idaho, where endless wilderness means unlimited fun. Explore the vast and varied outdoors, check out the museums and historic sites, or leap into action at the best water and amusement parks.

Bound into nature exploration starting at the magnificent Idaho Falls Greenbelt, with a six mile long paved trail along both sides of the Snake River. After your family hikes or bikes around the scenic paths, take a ride up to the 20 foot waterfall. Trek over to the Bruneau Dunes State Park next, which offers some epic climbs to help the kids to burn off their energy. The Craters of the Moon National Monument in Shoshone also hosts remarkable sights, with boiling lava beds and underground caves. Grab your suit and swim around the abundant hot springs, where your family can also set up camp. With epic fishing in the Grand Tetons as well, you won't run out of outdoor activities any time soon.

Discover the past at the National Oregon/California Trail Center in Montpelier or learn about fascinating animals at the World Center for Birds of Prey. If your kids are interested in a piece of intriguing history, take them to the Nez Perce Trail, where Lewis and Clark once left their footprints hiking throughout Idaho. If your child enjoys hopping on a train, a wide array of railways dating back to the mid-1800s will be sure to fascinate as well.

Chase thrills at one of the most exciting amusement parks in the state, Silverwood Theme Park. With a range of outdoor options for any family and nine thrill rides to choose from, including the new Spin Cycle, Silverwood is sure to fulfill your kid's need for speed. Gentler rides are available for children under 48 inches tall, and other opportunities like outdoor music performances make for good family fun. If your brood likes swimming and sliding, delight them at Boulder Beach Water Park, Ricochet Rapids, or Avalanche Mountain. Don't forget to check out the Yellowstone Bear World in Rexburg, where the petting zoo and other amusement rides will be sure to tickle your child's funny bone.
