Plunge into a world of fun this summer in Portland, Oregon. Learn something new at the Children's Museum, check out jellyfish at the Oregon Coast Aquarium, or hit the trail at Washington Park.

Spend the day in the Children's Museum, chock full of interactive exhibits sure to engage your child's frontal lobe. Watch your kids wield a brush and paint a masterpiece at the canvas or construct a sculpture from recycled materials. Nurse an animal back to health at the pet hospital, or dig a pit with kid-sized shovel. Take center stage in the theater area complete with props, or listen to an animal-themed story time. Camps with titles such as Nature Detectives and Artful Inventors will be sure to spark their creativity.

Dive into the mysteries of the deep at Oregon Coast Aquarium. Watch the sea otters playfully swim around and observe colonies of moon jellies or sea nettles in the coastal waters exhibit. Encourage the marine scientist in your child as they study a giant octopus or enjoy the sea stars and sea anemones hanging on in the crashing waters of the tide pools exhibit. Estuary trails allow for a pleasant walk and bird-watching experience, and even majestic animals such as red foxes and black bears make the scene. With snorkeling and preschool programs available, your kids will love to immerse themselves in everything aquatic.

Stop and smell the flowers at Washington Park. This beautiful area minutes from downtown Portland features 400 acres of trees and gardens along with 15 miles of trail paths. Put on your hiking boots and wander the paths with your family, or enjoy some live music at the Washington Park Amphitheater. Ride the zoo railway and then check out some of the park's works of art. If your family feels like getting active, play a friendly match of tennis at the courts or hit a bullseye at the archery range. Direct access to the Portland Zoo and several museums highlight this spot as a portal for fun.
