Launch a canoe and sail the calm lake waters, or engage your family and friends in an exciting game of volleyball. The playgrounds on site are the perfect place for your kids to get their wiggles out, and a full-service marina means everyone can navigate the waters in style. Best of all, for Grand Prairie residents, it's free!

See it to believe it at Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Your kids will squirm with delight at the two-headed animals and shrunken heads on display. Get lost in a dizzying vortex tunnel, or check out all the lifelike characters at the palace of wax. A laser maze challenge is the perfect way to get in some exercise, and themed galleries will be sure to pique any child's interest in arts and crafts. With oddities galore, your kids will be fascinated by the spectacles the "odditorium" has to offer. Children under four enter for free.

Get lost in the award-winning Grand Prairie Parks Arts and Rec Center. With a whopping 52 parks, it's more of a question of what this center doesn't have. Take a refreshing swim in one of four pools, swing a round of golf on the courses, or catch a show at the historic Uptown Theater. Families with Fido can take their dog to one of the specially designated dog parks, or revel in the outdoors with more than 5,000 acres of park featuring 14 miles of trails.
